Photography Investment Guide

I’m so happy that you found your way here, and to this significant moment in your live’s together.  My couples value authentic photography and celebrations rooted in

love, family, nature, and unique traditions.

We work together to create a plan for photography that feels effortless and highlights who you are.  Comfort and connection are key in my photographer/client relationship and your pictures will reflect who you really are and what your wedding day means to you.

Fine-art photography is an artistic documentary approach to capturing images.  I emphasize natural light and candid moments, focusing on love, beautiful details and people.  I believe that your photographs can be beautiful and natural all at once.

I am lucky enough to work with amazing couples from all across the country and world who value beautiful photography and make it a priority in their wedding plan.  I look forward to hearing more about you and your wedding vision!

About Sarah

I’m Sarah!  For the past eight years I’ve had the honor of photographing at countless wedding celebrations all over the country from coast to coast.

For me, the story began with my Grandmother’s heirloom 1964 Pentax 35mm Camera, early on I was an artistically inclined kid. I photographed and developed my first roll of film in the darkroom and was hooked. Fast-forward fifteen years and I have a BFA in Fine-Art Photography and Photojournalism. I have studied under some of the world’s premier Fine-Art photographers, I have lived from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, WA, to Boston and have worked as a photojournalist and editorial photographer.

Photography has allowed me to meet unique, beautiful people and share in their joyful celebrations, to explore new places, and to document a part of life that is deeply meaningful to me: love, culture and relationships. I’m so truly invested in making you beautiful, timeless images, and in photography being a fun and memorable part of your wedding experience.  I’m based in Maine… but nowhere is too far to travel for an adventure. This is my story, and I am honored to be a part of yours.

What Can We Expect?
How It Works
Your Wedding Timeline
When?

Typically for weddings I book 10-18 months in advance and for elopements anywhere from 3-10 months.

How?

We meet in person or for a video chat and get to know eachother! I want us both to feel completely confident in working together and excited about it.

Deposit?

A fifty percent deposit and electronically signed contract will secure your wedding photography. (In fairness to you, weddings are booked on a first come first serve basis, the sooner you book the less likely your date will be scooped up)

Before the wedding?

I help my couples with planning details such as scheduling photography into the timeline, planning locations and scouting, recommendations and connecting with other vendors, and much more.

I photograph 25 weddings and and 10 elopements maximum each year, so that I can provide the time and attention that you deserve for this once in a lifetime celebrations.

The Flow

Wonderful and enjoyable weddings require a bit of advance planning to feel effortless and memorable on the day. A timeline will help you in this process.

Every wedding is unique and planning a timeline with me ensures that you don't miss a minute of this time or an opportunity for a photograph you'll keep for a lifetime.

Getting Ready

1 to 2 hours
Be sure to choose a location for getting ready with enough natural light and a setting that you feel reflects the rest of your wedding day. We like to allow 1 to 2 hours for getting ready photography, this is when we capture candid moments with your closest loved ones and set the scene with details.

First Look / Reveal

30 minutes
This is optional, but many couples find it's really nice to see eachother and have photographs before their ceremony, to maximize time spent enjoying the festivities. Please account for driving time if this location is away from the venue.

Family Portraits

30 to 45 minutes
Group portrait timing will vary widely depending on the number of family combinations, we carefully craft a list of these combinations and estimate the length of time prior to the timeline being finalized.

Wedding Party

20 minutes
This time can vary and depends on location, size of wedding party, etc.

Your Reception

2 to 6 hours
Cocktails and beer, your first moments as a married couple, dinner, dancing, friends and family together.

Sunset Portraits

15 minutes
Sunset portraits! This is absolutely my favorite time to step away from the party briefly to capture some amazing golden hour portraits of you together, reveling in the amazing day.
