Wedding Photography Investment Guide

We are so truly happy that you found your way here, and to this moment in your life and relationship.  Our couples are like us: adventurous, fun, down-to-earth and living life to it’s fullestwith celebrations rooted in love, family, nature, unique traditions.

We work to create a plan for the day’s photography that feels effortless and highlights the authentic moments.  Comfort and connection are key in the photographer/client relationship and the pictures will reflect who you really are and what the day means to you.

Our style is fine-art, which means an interpretive, artistic, and documentary approach to capturing the event.  We emphasize natural light and candid moments, focusing on love, beautiful details and people.  We don’t believe that your photographs need to be fake, or overly stylized, but instead honest moments of being together.  Part of our process is getting to know you and making sure that it’s a great fit before booking your wedding.

We are lucky enough to work with amazing couples who end up feeling like old friends and families who welcome us like their long lost relative.  Our clients value beautiful photography, and make it a priority in the timing of their day.  Finding the right photographer is a priority because we will spend your whole day in eachother’s presence, the more comfortable and beautiful you feel in front of the camera, the more authentic and amazing your wedding images will be.

About Ashley

A Mother, a wife and an artist, life brought Ashley from Massachusetts to live Maine, photographing weddings all over New England along the way.  Simply put – she loves people, and her love language is to care for people by creatively documenting the big moments in their life.  Ashley’s clients feel instantly cared for, comfortable and at ease with her.

When she isn’t photographing weddings, she’s deep in the beauty of the Maine woods with her family and their chickens and gardens.  She loves traveling on weekends to weddings, and her personal favorite place to photograph is the rocky coast of Maine with it’s unparalleled beauty.

What Can We Expect?
How It Works
Your Wedding Timeline
When?

Typically for weddings I book 10-18 months in advance and for elopements anywhere from 3-10 months.

How?

Meet in person / video chat / phone call with Sarah first, then get to know Dave with a meeting! We want us both to feel completely confident in working together and excited about it. Sarah will manage your booking process, scheduling, and all pre-wedding details, and Dave will have pre-wedding meetings with you to go over wedding photography planning, schedule and locations.

Deposit?

A fifty percent deposit and electronically signed contract will secure your wedding photography. (In fairness to you, weddings are booked on a first come first serve basis, the sooner you book the less likely your date will be scooped up)

Before the wedding?

We help our couples with planning details such as scheduling photography into the timeline, planning locations and scouting, recommendations and connecting with other vendors, and much more.

After?

We photograph a limited number of weddings each year, so that we can provide the time and attention that you deserve for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. A huge part of the detail that goes into your photographs is in thee magic of our editing. Your wedding images are carefully selected and processed by us after the wedding. You will receive a handful of images as a preview within a week of the wedding, after that the full gallery takes typically 6-10 weeks for delivery. Wedding Galleries are delivered in a beautiful online sharing gallery with high-resolution image download and print and album purchase ability.

Where will you travel?

Travel within Maine and New Hamshire is included in all packages. We love to travel near and far for weddings, national and international travel are welcome. For weddings involving travel, reimbursement for airfare, gas, and one to two nights of overnight accommodations will be requested.

The Flow

Wonderful and enjoyable weddings require a bit of advance planning to feel effortless and memorable on the day. A timeline will help you in this process.

Every wedding is unique and planning a timeline with me ensures that you don't miss a minute of this time or an opportunity for a photograph you'll keep for a lifetime.

Getting Ready

1 to 2 hours
Be sure to choose a location for getting ready with enough natural light and a setting that you feel reflects the rest of your wedding day. We like to allow 1 to 2 hours for getting ready photography, this is when we capture candid moments with your closest loved ones and set the scene with details.

First Look / Reveal

30 to 60 minutes
This is optional, but many couples find it's really nice to see eachother and have photographs before their ceremony, to maximize time spent enjoying the festivities. Please account for driving time if this location is away from the venue. This gives you time to enjoy together, and to not rush photographs. Time is the best gift you can give your photographer!

Family Portraits

30 to 60 minutes
Group portrait timing will vary widely depending on the number of family combinations, we carefully craft a list of these combinations and estimate the length of time prior to the timeline being finalized.

Wedding Party

20 minutes
This time can vary and depends on location, size of wedding party, etc.

Your Reception

2 to 6 hours
Cocktails and beer, your first moments as a married couple, dinner, dancing, friends and family together.

Sunset Portraits

15-30 minutes
Sunset portraits! This is absolutely my favorite time to step away from the party briefly to capture some amazing golden hour portraits of you together, reveling in the amazing day.
