This Harpswell, Maine wedding photography session (and the day itself) was really special and dear to me. I first met Catherine and Joe long distance because the amazing Reverend Erika Hewitt thought we would hit it off. She has a fantastic sense of these things. Catherine and Joe were married at a magical house in Harpswell, designed by Joe’s parents, before moving to a schooner to sail around Orr’s island and celebrate into the night. The house reminded me of the homes I grew up in: every detail of the space told a story, and there was a wonderfully peaceful feeling as the clouds rolled in and out. Catherine and Joe’s dog laid himself down at their feet as they said their vows, facing out to Harpswell Sound, and Joe’s brother Will of Heartwood Forge fashioned beautiful handmade rings and wooden boxes. I am always learning new things from the wonderful people that I observe. Love is quiet, but it is there for all to see. Thanks to Catherine, Joe and their family for sharing this day and giving me the opportunity to document it.
Lots of thanks to:
