I met Emily in 2008 when we lived side by side in tents for six months while in undergrad at The Audobon Expedition Institute.  It was a group of five veritable strangers, living in Midcoast Maine through the first snow in November, with no running water and no cell phones.  This is probably a recipe for disaster, but somehow instead I got to know Emily’s kind heart, deep ethics, love for her family and respect of community.  I was so happy to hear when she met Zach, someone to share her life’s joy with.

At the wedding, a family member toasted Emily and Zach as a “power couple”.  This isn’t far from the truth.  When you are in their presence you feel the solid foundation and can imagine all that will be built upon that foundation.  I couldn’t have been happier to photograph this wedding and spend a day amongst the blueberry field and this beautiful community of people.  Enjoy these pictures!
